Developmentally Appropriate Experiences
Early Years (2 to 36 months)
Developmental Areas Guided by EYDF
At Iyad Perdaus, we are deeply committed to nurture holistic development through early communication and emotional security in our youngest learners. Guided by the research-based Abecedarian Approach, our educators engage children under 36 months in intentional and meaningful communications that support their various areas of development.
We believe that secure attachments are the cornerstone of a child’s exponential growth, and our team fosters these through consistent respectful, responsive, and reciprocal caregiving and interactions. Strong home–school partnerships further reinforce each child’s sense of security, thus creating a supportive environment where children feel confident to explore, learn, and thrive.

Preschool (4 to 6 years old)
Learning Areas Guided by NEL
Our values-driven P.L.A.Y. Approach (Playful Learning, Lifelong Skills, Active Participation, Yielding Independence) forms the foundation of our curriculum. Through intentional and meaningful experiences, children are empowered to explore, engage, and grow holistically in a nurturing environment.
Literacy is woven seamlessly into daily routines through our integrated Reading Programme and Diary Writing. These activities encourage early communication, reflection, and a love for language. Beyond literacy, our curriculum also emphasises cultural appreciation and community engagement, hence providing preschoolers with authentic experiences that build empathy, social awareness, and a strong sense of identity and belonging.

Nurturing values, social-emotional competencies, and learning dispositions profoundly impact children’s attitudes, behaviours, and decision-making across every facet of learning. These elements are pivotal for character development and preparing children for lifelong learning. Positive relationships with family, friends, teachers, and the broader community create a secure environment that shapes children into compassionate individuals who contribute positively to society.
Early Intervention
Programmes
In 2024, Iyad Perdaus continued to enhance its curriculum and inclusion efforts through leadership coaching with NIEC and expanded DS-LS support via Kidz Meadow. A total of 27 leaders participated in a five-session coaching programme focused on effective curriculum planning and strategic leadership. At the same time, the Early Intervention Department successfully enrolled 48 Kidz Meadow children in the DS-LS programme, strengthening partnerships with SPD, AWWA, and new collaborators like Thye Hua Kwan. These efforts reflect a strong commitment to continuous improvement and inclusive education.
Enrichment
Programmes
At Iyad Perdaus, we believe that every child deserves opportunities to explore their interests and talents beyond the classroom. Our enrichment programmes are thoughtfully curated to complement our curriculum and nurture holistic growth in children. These programmes are designed to align with our P.L.A.Y. approach — Playful Learning, Lifelong Skills, Active Participation, and Yielding Independence — ensuring that children learn in meaningful, enjoyable, and empowering ways.
Through enriching experiences, children develop confidence, creativity, problem-solving skills, and cultural awareness, laying a strong foundation for success in life and the hereafter.
Civics and Value
Education Programmes
We humbly embrace an inclusive and values-based approach that is rooted in Islamic principles. During non-curriculum hours, our morning assembly includes the basic recitation of short surah, doa for seeking knowledge, and prayers for well-being, thus fostering spiritual grounding in the children’s daily rhythm.
Our main curriculum adheres closely to the NEL Framework (MOE) and the Early Years Development Framework (EYDF, ECDA), which emphasise the development of values, social-emotional competencies, and positive learning dispositions. These are deeply aligned with the essence of Islamic teachings and naturally support the holistic development of each child. Additionally, we also provide Civic and Values Education lessons delivered by dedicated staff to strengthen the abovementioned areas. Through storytelling, singspiration, and various other teaching and learning approaches, we aim to support and strengthen the children’s learning and understanding of good moral values.
Iyad’s desired graduate outcomes is CoRE; a Confident Child, an Optimistic Individual, and a Resilient Learner. These outcomes are inspired by the noble characteristics of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (saw), namely Siddiq (truthfulness), Amanah (trustworthiness), Tabligh (communicativeness), and Fathonah (wisdom). These attributes guide the spirit of our work and form the foundation of our character education approach.
