Yes! You can start as a Relief Educator (on an ad-hoc basis) or a Full-Time Assistant Educator (subject to availability). While working, you can pursue the necessary certifications through courses conducted during the day (subject to centre’s manpower needs) or after working hours. For other roles, certification is required in accordance with ECDA regulations.
Visit ECDA’s official guide at How to Be an Educator. There, you can select your current education level to see which early childhood courses you’re eligible for, and what roles they lead to. It’s a great starting point to plan your EC career path.

To work in Early Intervention, you’ll generally need to first complete a recognised Early Childhood Education qualification, such as a Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education (DECCE).
After that, you can pursue the Specialist Diploma in Early Childhood Learning Support (SDELS), which prepares you for roles in Early Intervention Programme.
If you’re interested in Social Work, you’ll need to meet the academic and professional requirements for that field. The Social Work pathway is different from Early Childhood and falls under the purview of NCSS and MSF.
